Have not tried these yet but they are getting really good hype on other forums as to improve game performance...
since BFBC2 beta came out everyone is in high gear to get the game to play good, mine lags bad on my comp but I may try these programs when I have some time..

I'm sure most of you all know about this one. This is a free registry cleaner that works wonders for your bloated PC and will increase performance. You can also control your start up menu so it won't load unnecessary programs when you start up your system. I've been using this for a while and I give it a huge thumbs up.

I use mostly that CCleaner, and sometimes Vista manager (link below), which has decent registry cleaner.
